Global Applications Of Agricultural Drones

Aerial pesticide spraying, especially the agricultural drone spraying, changes the pesticide spraying forms worldwide. With the development of flow control and flight control, nowadays the agricultural spraying drones are gradually used in the most developed countries such as the United States, Russia, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Japan, South Korea and other countries.

The United States owns one of the most mature agricultural and aeronautical applications; it has formed a relatively complete agricultural and aviation industry system. The direct contribution rate of agricultural aviation to agriculture is more than 15%. USA has more than 4,000 aircrafts (more than 20 kinds of models, to be fixed fixed-wing aircraft, accounting for about 88%), the number of agricultural aircraft pilot more than 3200, the annual handling of more than 40% of the cultivated area, 65% Chemical pesticides using aircraft operations to complete the spraying, of which 100% of the rice spraying operations using aviation operations.

Since 2002, about $7 million has been spent on agricultural and aeronautical technology research and development, for instance, intelligent flight control, RTK technology, new formula pesticide and better spraying technology.

Australia and Brazil experience the development of agricultural aviation model similar to the United States, the current main models for the driving of fixed-wing aircraft and rotor helicopters. Now the government pays more attention to the agricultural spraying drone.

Japan's leaf company launched the worlds first mainly used for spraying pesticides UAV, UAV in agriculture and forestry applications in the rapid development of the Japanese agricultural unmanned aerial vehicles. By the end of October 2010, the number of small-scale agricultural unmanned aerial vehicles registered was 2346, and the number of unmanned aircraft was 14163, and the control area was 963,000 hm2. At present, the use of micro-agricultural unmanned aerial vehicles for agricultural production has become one of the important trends in agricultural development in Japan.

In South Korea a total of 121 agricultural helicopters (including agricultural unmanned aerial vehicles 101, plant protection operating area 43460hm2; some helicopter 20, plant protection operating area of 55200hm2), about 80% of the aircraft owned by the local agricultural association.

In summary, agricultural aviation technology is an important part of the above-mentioned national agricultural engineering, and the proportion of agricultural production is increasing. According to the appropriate degree of farmland flight operating environment, foreign agricultural aviation can be divided into two kinds of driving and unmanned operation form. In countries such as the United States, Russia, Australia, Canada and Brazil have large per capita arable land, people engaged in fixed-wing aircraft operations, and in Japan, South Korea and other countries with a small per capita arable land, in the form of aviation plant protection operations are increasingly being adopted by the majority of farmers.
